Caulry Gathering
Well done to all concerned following a very successfull series of events last week-end to celebrate the Caulry Gathering. We had a well attended mass on Friday  night followed by tea & refreshments in the Hall and a very enjoyable traditional music session in Egans. On Saturday the Golf event in Mount Temple was won by Pat McCormack. In the Park there was a very entertaining Camogie game between former members of Caulry Camogie Club. The Larry Nugent U/10 Final was won by Caulry who defeated Rosemount. Caulry also claimed victory in the Edward Egan Cup defeating Tubber in the final. The week-end celebrations concluded with a packed Egans on Saturday night where a BBQ and presentation of prizes took place followed by an excellent night’s entertainment provided by the Willie Kavanagh Band and local guest artists.

Caulry Under 12s
Caulry played host to St Malachys/Ballingore in glorious sunshine on Wednesday last.

Despite having played Clann Na Gael on the previous Monday and two days of festival skills and training, the Caulry boys summoned up great energy to come out on top in a good contest.

James Clavin, Ciarian Gaynor  and Zach Nolan were rock solid in defence, with Thomas Dunning and Roan Sweeney pulling the strings in the middle to set up  an eager and skillfull forward division, where Jamie Conlon and Luke Buckley were particularly effective.

Caulry are aslo competing in the Under 13 Football League Group D, with games coming up soon against Maryland Tang and Castledaly.

Final Score: Caulry 6-12 St Malachy’s/ Ballinagore 2-12.

Team: James Clavin, Rory Mullins, Zach Nolan, Lee Roy Coughlan, Luke Hamilton, James Carey, Colm Shortall, Thomas Dunning, Roan Sweeney, Glen Carolan, Daniel Buckley, Olan Healy, Jamie Conlon, Luke Buckley, Adam Donoghue, Ciarian Gaynor, Conor McKnight, Oisin Murphy.

Caulry Football Skills and Training Festival
Caulry held their third annual 3 day Football and Training Festival on July 16/17/18th last.
110 children attended in brilliant sunshine, where skills were honed and new tricks learned from 9.30 to 2.30 each day. The presence of the Leinster GAA Roadshow on the Wednesday, with a very helpful Sean Dempsey in attendance was a particular highlight as was an inspirational talk by our Westmeath Senior player, Kevin Maguire.  Great credit to Coaching Development Officer, T.J. Dunning and his helpers namely, Gary Flanagan, Jody Malynn, Joe Roarke, Hugh Gaynor, James Hatton, Matt Hamilton, Brian Carolan, Ian Hallissy, John Lawless, John Madden, John Higgins, Jackie Killane, Mary Quigley, Adrienne Dollard, Aishling Flynn, Rachael & Eva Dunning, Samantha Carroll, Stephen Connolly, Killian Healy, Cillian Nagle, Eoin Grennan, Michael McMahon, Eoin Donoghue, John & Kevin Maguire.
