IFC Fixture
All roads lead to Cusack Park on Sunday evening next for the third round of this year’s intermediate championship. Our lads face Milltown in this eagerly awaited clash. With both sides having two games under their belt, it is Milltown who sit above Caulry on the table with three points having won one game and drew another. However, our lads will be hoping to drive on from their thrilling victory over St. Malachys and notch up their second win in this year’s campaign. Kick-off is at 5:45pm and all supporters are encouraged to get behind the team. Good luck lads!

Division 1 Minor Championship
Caulry 2-8
The Downs 5-16
Our minors bowed out of this year’s Division 1 championship when they suffered a comprehensive loss to a much stronger The Downs side in their quarter-final clash on Thursday evening last.
Our lads were sluggish to start with some early chances going astray as The Downs hit the ground running with a fine point from play. The Downs doubled the deficit on the 4th minute after settling for a point despite a goal being on the cards. Neil Clinton cut the deficit by one after combining nicely with Matthew Nally. Luke Buckley then drew level on the 6th minute after his effort was assisted by the post over the bar. However, our lads failed to build on this as a number of attacks were lost in the defensive sea of black and amber. Despite both sides playing with a vast number in defence, The Downs seems better equipped as they reeled off three quick points between the 9th and 11th minutes. The homeside then registered their first goal of the evening on the 15th minute. The Caulry lads responded well as Buckley rattled the back of the opposition’s net soon after after a fine pass from Olan Healy. The Caulry defence worked tenaciously as the teams shared three points, with Colin Murphy on target for Caulry. However, a late goal for The Downs put them seven points the good at the halftime whistle on a scoreline of 2-7 to 1-3.
The Downs raced out of the tracks with a goal 30 seconds after the resumption of play. The Caulry lads kept their cool as Adam Donoghue drew one back. Senan Baker worked hard when introduced as he set Murphy up for his second score of the game on the 34th minute. The Downs kept their lead intact as they kicked the next two scores of the game. After availing of a pass from Buckley, Nally then sent the back to the back of the opposition’s net. Three quick points coming courtesy of Murphy and Clinton left just four between the sides by the 42nd minute. However, The Downs soon regained control of proceedings, outscoring our lads 2-7 to 0-0 to run out easy winners on the evening. Ultimately, our lads chased the deficit throughout and with this defeat, exit the Division 1 MFC in the quarter-final stages. Many thanks to all the team and their management for their hard work and commitment throughout the year.
