Caulry Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of the Caulry club was held on last Friday night in Mount Temple Community Centre. A minutes silence was observed at the start of the meeting for all deceased members and their families during the past year.

Outgoing chairman Ger O Kelly Lynch, welcomed the good sized attendance and stated that the past year was a particularly successful one, with the club finally back in senior ranks. He thanked all the players and management team of Francie Grehan, Jody Malynn, Enda Malone and J.J. Cattigan for their dedication and commitment to finally getting over the line. While the football may not have been of the desired standard, the ultimate result was what counted. However, he went on to say that we must push on and go forward, otherwise standing still will be backwards. With this in mind he hoped the appointment of Peter Leahy as Senior team manager will be a positive move in that direction of the ultimate objective, The Flanagan cup. With the underage set up continuing to flourish, this is of major benefit in this regard. He complemented the stand out performances  of the under 14’s in winning the Division 1 Shield and the under 16’s reaching the Division 3 final. With Mount Temple school also annexing an unprecedented two in a row county final victories further evidence of not only movement in the right direction, but of the high calibre of coaching on offer .

The completion of the purchase of five acres of land adjacent to our club grounds was another milestone and he looked forward to the future development of this for our ever growing numbers. He further thanked all his fellow hard working officers, committee, team mentors and supporters for their various trojan efforts during the past year and hoped that they would continue this in the coming year.
The outgoing secretary reiterated many of the chairman’s comments and praised all lotto sellers and supporters. He also gave a detailed account of all matches and activities during the past year.

The outgoing treasurer, Padraig Killane’s report showed the ever increasing cost of running the club. He stated that the club lotto and the strictly fun dancing event were the two major fund raisers for the past year and thanked all who contributed so generously. After the reading of the reports, the election of officers took place and that was followed by some debate regarding memberships and entrance facilities and fees at our county grounds.
