Caulry GAA PRO Notes 14th Oct Sept 2013 -

Intermediate Final -
For the second year in a row Caulry unfortunately came out second best and were defeated by a stronger St Malachys side in the re-played final of this year's Intermediate Championship in Cusack Park last Saturday. Following a pattern this season Caulry fell behind by an eleven point deficit at one stage in the second half and despite a very spirited rally in the last twenty minutes of the game by the men in red, this was a bridge too far this time round and St Malachy's ran out three point winners in the end on a scoreline of St Malachy's 1-13 Caulry 0-13 points. The club would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the squad of players and the Team Management who put in such a tremendous effort again this year in getting to the final and also to our vast army of supporters who yet again turned out in great numbers last Saturday.
The Club would also like to wish St Malachys the best of luck as they return to Senior football next year. See full match report elsewhere in this newspaper.
Final Division 2 League Game
At time of going to press, our final and crucial All-County Division 2 League game versus the Downs has been scheduled for the Park next Sunday morning ( October 20th) at 11.30am. A win on Sunday would give Caulry the Division 2 title but most importantly would give us promotion to Division 1 of the League for next year where we would compete with all the top senior clubs in the county and thus gain great experience for the lads in their quest next year to win that elusive Intermediate Championship title.
Again we would ask for a big local support next Sunday in the Park for this crucial league game.
