League Division 1
Caulry’s recently postponed opening League Division 1 match with Athlone has been refixed for Sunday next. Throw in is at 2.30pm in Caulry.

League Division 5
Caulry’s match with St Malachys in the League Division 5 on Saturday last was postponed due to an unplayable pitch.

Strictly Come Dancing
The marquee in Egan’s Mount Temple was packed to capacity on Saturday night last to catch a glimpse of what might be in store in the upcoming ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ event on March 16th in Radisson Blu Athlone.  All the practise seems to have been paying dividends and judging by last Saturday night, a great nights entertainment awaits.

County Under 21
Well done to Westmeath Under 21 footballers who drew with Longford away after extra time last Wednesday and now replay on this Wednesday in Lakepoint Park, Mullingar. Caulry’s Michael McMahon had a fine game in goals.
Westmeath Independent Sports Stars Awards
Caulry are very honoured to have two of our players monthly winners in the Westmeath Independent Sports Stars Awards and therefore in line for the overall award at the Gala presentation night on February 28, which is Friday next in The Shamrock Lodge Hotel Athlone.

The two are Michael McMahon and Kevin Maguire, who have developed greatly through the Caulry underage system through to the county teams.

Michael is the February award winner for his exploits on the soccer field with Athlone Community College, saving and scoring a penalty in the Leinster Schools success. This also highlights Michaels ability and versatility across the sporting spectrum. Michael is the present Westmeath Under 21 goalkeeper, but is more noted as performing across the various defensive positions in the red and white.

Kevin has been performing with distinction for the Westmeath Senior team in recent years and is the April winner for his performances in helping Westmeath achieve promotion to Division 1. He is now the ‘go to man’ whenever the top opposition forwards need special attention.

We would encourage all our supporters to vote for both Michael and Kevin. Voting is by text up until 12 noon on Friday.  Text INDO2 to 57199 for Michael and Indo 4 to 57199 for Kevin.

Good luck to all  worthy award winners.
