Caulry GAA PRO Notes 16th Sept 2013

Intermediate Semi-Final
Caulry play Ballynacargy this coming Saturday in Cusack Park, Mullingar in the Semi-final of this year's Intermediate Football Championship as part of a double header with a throw-in time of 5.30pm.

Following Caulry's impressive win over Tubberclair in the Quarter-final, hopes are high in the camp that Caulry can overcome the Semi-final hurdle and qualify for our second Intermediate final two years in a row. This game will be very competitive as Ballynacargy have been impressive in winning their Group Section thus automatically qualifying for a Semi-final spot. We are anticipating a huge local support in Cusack Park to cheer on the boys in red and white on Saturday.
All-Ireland Tickets & Quiz
Congratulations to Michelle Guinan ( Motte & Bailey) who was the winner of the two All-Ireland Football Tickets plus an overnight stay in Dublin following the draw which took place last Friday night in Egans as part of the Quiz night. Alan Fitzpatrick took the second prize of €100 and Joe Browne won the €50 voucher. Also many thanks to all who participated in the Quiz and to those who helped out on the night and who sponsored Quiz prizes.
Under 12s
A depleted Caulry Under 12 panel travelled to Maryland on Wednesday evening last for their first outing in the Garrycastle U/12 Tournament. On a wet, cold evening, mistakes were inevitable  and unfortunately we were made to pay dearly for ours. This allied to the absence of some of our more prominent players sealed our fate. However, the 4-5 to 0-4 scoreline did not do justice to the efforts of our young players, with Glen Carolan, Ciarian Gaynor, Lee-Roy Coughlan and Adam Donoghue particularly prominent.
Panel: Rory Mullins, Glen Carolan, Danial Buckley, Colm Shortall, James Carey, Ciarian Gaynor, Zach Nolan, Luke Hamilton,  Lee-Roy Coughlan (0-1) Olan Healy, Oisin Murphy, Jamie Conlon, Roan Sweeney, Adam Donoghue (0-2), Sean Malone, Padraig Murphy (0-1).
Caulry play Tyrrellspass in the next round of the Garrycastle Tournament on this Wednesday evening. Throw in is at 6.45pm in the Park.
Best of Luck
Good luck to former Caulry players Emma Shortall, Grace Coughlan and Clare Dolan who line out with the Moate Ladies in their Intermediate Co. Final in St Lomans this Saturday at 3.30pm.
