Intermediate Championship
Well done to the Caulry Intermediate squad who had a great win over Tubberclair in a second round tie in this year's Intermediate championship which was held last Friday evening in very inclement weather conditions in Tang. Bursting out of the blocks from the word go and courtesy of two well taken goals by David Brookes, the first a gem which was a great team effort being worked up from the half-back line, Caulry played some excellent attacking football and went into the break with a lead of eight points. As expected, Tubberclair hit back strongly in the second half with five unanswered points of their own, but a young and fit Caulry team held firm and a great closing point from play by Alan Rigney sealed the win on a scoreline of Caulry 2-9 Tubberclair 1-8. This second successive win puts Caulry at the top of their Division and they now play Tang in the next round which is scheduled for week-ending July 8th.
