Minor Division 2 Semi-final
Caulry bowed out of this year's Minor Championship when losing by a point to Tubberclair in a keenly contested game played in the Park on Saturday last.
Playing a physically stronger side Caulry were out of the blocks first and had 3 points on the scoreboard inside ten minutes including an excellent point from play by Stephen Woods. Tubberclair began to settle and drew level mid-way through the half. The game was evenly balanced and well contested by both sides up to the break and despite another great score from Stephen Woods and a brace of points from play by David Brookes, Caulry went in at the break one point in arrears on a scoreline of 0-7 to 0-6.

The second-half proved equally as competitive with both sides trying hard to gain the initiative. Mid-way through the half with the game all square an unfortunate injury to star mid-fielder Robbie Hickey, which led to his forced retirement, seemed to swing the game very much in Tubberclair's favour and they soon raced into a five point lead with minutes remaining. However Caulry continued to rally and a goal from a thirteen metre free by David Brookes reduced the arrears to a single point in injury time, but too little too late and Tubberlair emerged victorious on a scoreline of Tubberclair 0-13 Caulry 1-9.

This was heartbreak for the Caulry lads who with a bit of luck on their side and perhaps some considered positional switches during the game could have come out on top.

U/10 End of Season Blitz
The Under 10 footballers finished off the year with a football blitz and party last Sunday in the local GAA pitch. Our thanks to Brian Carolan for sponsoring the food and drinks. The club would like to say special thanks to all the parents for their support during the year. In these difficult times they never failed to provide transport or help out in whatever way was asked of them. Also a thanks to mentors Eleanor Claffey, Matt Hamilton, Brian Carolan, Gerry Donoghue, Hugh Clavin, Hugh Gaynor, Stephen Murphy, Matt Conlon, Ray McKnight, John Murphy, Mark Kerr and T.J. Dunning for all their time and effort. Finally to the players for their great dedication and displays during the year, which were duly rewarded with annexing the Larry Nugent Memorial Cup. The 2011 season may have ended, but preparation for 2012 has begun and we would encourage all players to keep practising and to continue to improve their skills.
