Minor League
On Sunday afternoon,Caulry Minors made the short journey to take on the home team Moate in the minor league. In an tit for tat first half Caulry went into the break trailing by one point. A point from A O Sullivan got Caulry on the scoreboard. Moate replied with two points. O Sullivan chipped in with two further points for Caulry, only for Moate to reply with two of their own. The score of the first half came when G Shortall contested a high ball and cleverly flicked the ball into the path of J Pettit. James delivered the perfect pass over the top for O Sullivan to get the first goal of the game. However Moate again replied with a goal, leaving the half time score 1-03 to 1-04.

Caulry started the second half in determined fashion and early points from O Sullivan and Brookes put them back into the lead. Caulry dominated from there adding a further 1-05 to run out winners. The introduction of H Hughes and R Hickey freshened up the Caulry attack. Harry fresh from his Connacht cup victory (Marist senior Rugby) was flying and his direct running caused the Moate defence problems. Robbie back after injury was very effective contributing a well taken goal.

Missing a couple of regulars Caulry were very slow out of the blocks and Malachys capitalised on this when going on a scoring spree in the first half getting some excellent points from play.

Caulry's response was lethargic and they only mananged three points in the half, two coming from play to go in behind at the break on a scoreline of St Malahys 1-12 Caulry 0-3 points.

Caulry put on a better display in the second half and kept pace with Malachy's be it from some well
taken frees from Eric Fallon, however Malachys maintained their half-time cushion and ran out deserving winners on a full time score of St Malachy's 2-18 Caulry 0-10.
