Intermediate Championship
Caulry played Tang last Sunday evening in Tubberclair in the third round of this year's Intermediate Championship. Having defeated Ballinicargy and Tubberclair in their previous two outings Caulry went into this game in an upbeat mood and following a great first half display which included a well taken goal by David Brookes went in at the break five points to the good.

Tang rallied in the second half scoring a goal of their own but our lads showed great resilience and team work and ran out four point winners on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-8.

Next up for Caulry is a local derby versus Garrycastle in two weeks time.

U12s Gowna GAA Tournament 21/07
The Caulry Under 12 footballers made an early start on Saturday morning last when travelling to Gowna GAA Club in Co Cavan for their tournament. With 24 teams from around the country taking part, the stage was set to display skills against new opposition and make new friends and contacts.

Match Format: Games were 9-a-side, 8 minutes a half and in all we played 6 games. The Caulry lads were quickly into their stride displaying fine support play which was to continue throughout the day and won many admirers from those present.

Group Game 1 (v Knockbride - Cavan): Despite Caulry dominating play, Knockbride were clinical in their display and carried the day 4-1 to 1-8.

Group Game 2 (v Ballinamore - Leitrim):  Against Ballinamore we lost out on a scoreline of 2-3 to 2-2.

Group Game 3 (v Colmcille - Meath) In our final group match we shared an exciting draw, 1-4 to 2-1 with Colmcille.

Despite being unlucky in the group stages, we went into the Shield section.
Shield section Game 4 (v Kinawley Fermanagh): A 3 goal salvo from Shane Cleary gave us a comprehensive 5-4 to 1-4 victory. This earned Caulry a quarter final slot.

Quarter final (v Denn - Cavan) ) Following a fierce and closely contested encounter, the teams finished level. With two four minute periods of extra time to decide the outcome, Caulry’s two points to Denn’s one, left us 1-8 to 2-4 victors.

Semi-final (v Granard - Longford): Caulry were well on top throughout and in a titanic struggle, lead from start to the final minute when the Longford boys kicked the winning point, for a 1-5 to 1-4. While the lads were disappointed to go so close and lose in such heart breaking fashion, they once again did themselves, their family and club proud with their excellent football and behaviour, and in the process won many new admirers and friends.

Caulry Football & Training Camp
Caulry held an underage football training and coaching camp over 3 days last week. The emphasis was very much on skills and enjoyment, which should prove a great help in promoting and fostering gaelic football in the club. There was a great turn out of both boys and girls, who were all very enthusiastic, skillful and energetic. Great credit must go to the many coaches and mentors who gave so generously of their time and expertise, including taking holiday time off to facilitate the daily activity. The club is deeply appreciative of this, and shows once again the great voluntary spirit inheritant in the club and the local GAA community.

Caulry Training Coaches and Mentors in attendance included:

Dunning, Joe Roarke Jody Malynn, Brian Carolan, George Hatton, James Hatton, Hugh Gaynor, Kevin Connaughton, John Madden, Brendan Clarke, Eleanor Claffey, Aisling Claffey, Aisling Flynn, Samantha Carroll, Mary Quigley, Blaithide Duignan, Michelle Baker, Niall Shortall, Ian Hallissy, John Higgins, Declan Donoghue, Eoin Donoghue, Alan Fitzpatrick, Killian Healy, Killian Nagle, Alan Fitzpatrick, Johnny Dolan, Michael McMahon, John Shortall.
