Official Opening
Unfortunately due to the adverse weather forecast for last weekend, the official opening of Caulry's new pitch/walking track planned for Sunday, September 23rd was cancelled. The event will be rescheduled at a later date.

Ladies Junior Championship County Final
Congratulations to our ladies who were crowed junior champs on Saturday afternoon last in a hard-fought battle over Moate. Our girls fought to the bitter end and showed a never-say-die attitude as they came back from a 7 point deficit to win on a scoreline of 3-9 to 2-11. This is a superb achievement as it is their first time to field an adult team and we have no doubt that this young team has a very bright future ahead of them. Well done to all the girls and their management team and the very best of luck to them as they take on the Wicklow champions next weekend.

U12 Garrycastle Tournament Semi-Final
Caulry 2-9
St. Manchan Gaels 3-8
Our U12 boys bowed out of this year’s Garrycastle Tournament on Wednesday evening last when they hosted St. Manchan Gaels for their semi-final.
Caulry started the game well with four quick scores from Cormac Murphy, Aaron Hanevy, Aaron Murphy and Lee Corcoran. Darragh Shortall and Cody Parker defended well as Dean Byrne converted a free for Caulry. Aaron Murphy then put the homeside eight points the good as his ‘45’ dropped short into the back of the opposition’s net. Corcoran and Hanevy tagged on points as Fionn O’Donovan brought off some vital intercepts. However, some unanswered scores for St. Manchan Gaels saw the Caulry lead reduced to four at the break on a scoreline of 1-7 to 1-3.
The opposition raced out of the tracks with a quick goal early in the second half. However, after some good defending from Michael McSharry, Corcoran stretched Caulry’s lead with his goal. The opposition never gave up as they kicked three unanswered points to leave the narrowest of margins between the sides. Aaron Hanevy doubled the deficit by the end of the third quarter before the opposition got their noses in front with an unanswered 1-1. Cian Lawless converted a free before a late point saw St. Manchan Gaels escape with the win on a scoreline of 3-8 to 2-9.
Team: Fionn O’Donovan, Aaron Murphy, Dylan Kelly McCormack, Rory Hatton, Dean Martin, Aaron Hanevy, Eoin Murphy, Dean Byrne, Kyle Nulty, Jack Killane, James O’Brien, Sean Donnelly, Brian Doyle, Max O’Sullivan, Lee Corcoran, David Gaynor, Eoin McCormack, Darragh Shortall, Cormac Murphy, Cian Lawless, Cody Parker, Michael McSharry

U10 Larry Nugent Tournament
The annual Caulry GAA Larry Nugent Memorial Tournament for U-10’s takes place next Saturday 29th starting at 11am and finishing at 2pm. The tournament will see teams from Caulry, Rosemount, Moate, Garrycastle, Tubberclair, Ballymahon, Maryland/Tang and Castledaly all travel to Caulry for the day. There will be 2 groups of 4 with the winners of each group playing for the Cup with plate and shield finals also taking place for the teams in 2nd, 3rd and 4th in each group. It promises to be a fun filled day of football with the future of Westmeath football in action. Hope to see you there.
