Under 13 Football Moate v Caulry
Caulry overcame Moate in an exciting and entertaining well contested game in Moate on Friday evening last. When these sides met earlier on in the year, Caulry were victors. However, Moate wanted to redress the balance and kept in this game right to the end. In truth were unlucky not to get a share of the spoils when Matthew Nally’s fourth goal clinched victory right at the finish. A lot of Caulry players were ‘ring rusty’ and were lucky that Matthew Nally was once again the stand out player. Thomas Dunning and Christian Stephens were also in top form, while Glen Carolan and James Clavin until injured were impressive. The return from Jamaica of Darren Browne was also a decided and welcome boost.

Caulry Squad: Christian Stephens, Jack Sheehan, Eoin Shortall, Zach Nolan, Luke Hamilton, Colin Murphy, Rian Rasmussen, Dylan Lowry, Sean Fox, James Clavin, Shane Cleary, Eugene Costello, Thomas Dunning, Matthew Nally, Adam Donoghue, Jack Malone, Daniel Buckley, Keith Buckley, Glen Carolan, Charlie Malone, Shane Hynes, Darren Browne.

Under 14 Championship Div 3 Semi Final Moate v Caulry
On Thursday last Caulry U14’s bowed out of this year’s Championship in the semi final against near neighbours Moate. This was an entertaining game from start to finish and despite losing the Caulry lads didn’t disappoint their supporters as they gave it their all and were a credit to their Club. The first half was very close with the Caulry lads defending ferociously, closing down numerous Moate attacks and minimising their scoring chances. The midfield and forwards were playing their part too fighting for every ball and putting some scores on the board, going in at half time two points behind. Upon resumption the Caulry lads lifted their game and took the lead after scoring a goal and a point without reply. Moate levelled matters however and then both teams traded scores before Moate pulled away in the final minutes to win the game.

Well done to all the squad for their hard work and commitment throughout the year. Many thanks also to all the parents and guardians who supported the players and team.
