Club AGM
The Annual General Meeting of the Caulry club was held on last Friday night in Mount Temple Community Centre. A minutes silence was observed at the start of the meeting for all deceased members and their families during the past year. Outgoing chairman Ger O Kelly Lynch, welcomed the good sized attendance and stated that the past year was a successful one, with the club maintaining senior status for a second year for the first time in the 88 year history of the club. Ger thanked Gerry Walker, Tommy Woods and Colin White for their hard work and commitment as senior management for the first half of the year and wished them the very best in their future endeavours. Ger also thanked current manager Gordon McDonnell and his selectors Pat Buckley, Peter Smyth and Jody Malynn for their hard work in the second half of the year and coming on board at such short notice and expressed his anticipation for the eagerly awaited 2017 campaign which will see Caulry compete in the section B of the SFC which promises to be a highly competitive and exciting affair. He also expressed his gratitude to Enda Malone, Pat Malone and Breda Malynn for their help with the Senior squad and their needs during the year.
He thanked joint junior managers Robbie Ryan and Damien Keenan and selector Jay Walker for their hard work during the year.
He praised the minor board and all underage teams for their performances. In particular he congratulated the minors, U16s and U14s for winning their respective league titles. He also praised the minors for their performance in the premier championship, being beaten by eventual county champions Shandonagh at the semi-final stage.
Ger then praised the work of Caulry ladies on their 4th year running a series of underage teams. He expressed congratulations to the successful minor and U16 teams and praised the U14s who were unfortunately defeated after a replay in their championship final.
He expressed sincere gratitude to the local schools of An Grianan and Baylin NS for their hard work in promoting GAA in the community.
Ger spoke about the development progress made and the sowing of seed in the recently acquired five acre site during the year and expressed his excitement for the coming year’s development of the area into a functioning playing pitch and training area. He praised the very successful Sponsor A Sod fundraiser which was carried out in June and thanked everyone who generously contributed to it. He expressed sincere gratitude to Club Development Officer Joe Roarke for his enthusiasm and hard work throughout the year. He further thanked all his fellow hard working club officers, committee, team mentors and supporters for their huge contribution during the past year and hoped that they would continue this in the coming year. He also complemented hon secretary Keith Dolan and hon treasurer Padraig Killane for their workload,support and commitment throughout the year. Finally, Ger wished all club members, supporters and their families a happy Christmas and successful new year and he wished all senior and underage teams the best of luck in their 2017 campaigns.
The outgoing secretary Keith Dolan then reiterated many of the chairman’s comments. He also gave a detailed account of all matches and activities during the past year. Keith acknowledged the achievements of Conor McCormack and Emmet Nally in their schools campaign and praised all underage players who represented Caulry on the county throughout the year. In particular Kevin Maguire on reaching his second successive Leinster final with Westmeath senior panel. 
The outgoing treasurer, Padraig Killane’s report showed the ever increasing cost of running the club. He stated that the club lotto was a major fundraiser for the past year and thanked all who contributed so generously. Padraig also highly praised the successful SOS fundraiser and thanked everyone who contributed in any way. After the reading of the reports, the election of key club officers took place.

Other Executive Committee positions and support Sub-Committees discussed on the night will be confirmed and finalised in the coming weeks.

Minor AGM
The Minor AGM of the Caulry club will be held on Friday 9th of December in Mount Temple Community Centre starting at 8:30pm. All members and intending members should endeavour to intend.
