All-County League Division 2 Winners -
Well done to the Caulry Intermediate squad who won promotion to Division 1 of the All-County League for 2014 following their win last Sunday in the Park in their last Div 2 league game of the season. The win gives Caulry the Division 2 League title for 2013 and for the first time ever a place in the elite All-County Division 1 League for next year.
Caulry 2-12 The Downs 0-10
Following a very evenly balanced first half where scores were alternated between both sides and every ball was contested in championship style, Caulry with the aid of the breeze went in the interval two points to the good on a scoreline of 0-7 points to 0-5.
On the resumption of play a fitter and more determined Caulry outfit began to dominate proceeedings and with the aid of two well taken goals in the third quarter by Gary Flanagan and Alan Fitzpatrick sealed the tie despite a never-say-die attitude by The Downs who continued to battle to the final whistle but came up short on a final scoreline of 2-12 to 0-10.
Team & Scorers : Joe Mc Mahon, Jack O'Kelly-Lynch, Kevin Maguire, James Pettit, Damien Dolan (0-2), Ben Moran, Harry Hughes, Gary Flanagan (1-0), John Maguire, Ernie Buckley, Peter Smyth 0-5 (4f), Johnny Dolan (0-1), David Brookes (0-1), Alan Rigney (0-1), Andy O'Sullivan (0-1).
Subs Used : Alan Fitzpatrick (1-1) for Andy O'Sullivan, Michael McMahon for Jack O'Kelly-Lynch, Keith Mc Menamin for James Pettit, Robbie Hickey for Johnny Dolan, Michael Donohoe for Ernie Buckley.

Note : A special thanks to The Downs who travelled to Caulry twice over the last couple of weeks to fulfill the fixture and which had little impact on the outcome of their league season. Also the takings at the gate for the game which did not go ahead two weeks ago has been donated by the Caulry club to the local South Westmeath Hospice. There was also no 'gate' taken at last Sunday's game.
Deepest Sympathies
The Caulry club wishes to extend its deepest sympathies to the Ganly family Drumrainey following the tragic death of Philip last week. A minutes silence in his honour was observed at the Caulry/Downs League game last Sunday
