Intermediate Championship
Well done to Caulry who secured an automatic semi-final spot in this year's Co.Intermediate Football Championship following a comprehensive 3-16 to 0-7 victory over near neighbours Garrycastle in round four of the Championship last Sunday evening in Tang. They now play their fifth and final round match this Friday evening ( Aug 10th) when they take on Milltownpass at 7.30pm in Ballinagore and will then await the identity of their semi-final opponents following the quarter -finals in a couple of weeks time. See full match report elsewhere in this newspaper.

Under 12 Football: St Brigids v Caulry
Caulry travelled to Kiltoom on Thursday evening, where they fielded two 11-a-side teams against the local team St Brigids. Two splendid well contested matches ensued. In both encounters, Caulry enjoyed good opening periods, with the Roscommon boys coming back strongly in the second half. In team 1, Jack Sheehan gave a good solid display in goals and later at full forward, while Darcy Lawless did a similar reverse role. Colin Murphy was a rock once again, however, Matthew Nally was the outstanding player in a team which showed great teamwork. At full time Caulry shaded this game 7-5 to 3-5. In team 2, Shane Cleary, Luke Hamilton and Zach Nolan were in top form, with Rian Rasmussen proving an ace goal poacher on this occasion. St Brigids late flourish saw them come out on top here on a scoreline, 4-15 to 5-6. As always the return is eagerly awaited.

Caulry : Team 1 : Jack Sheehan, Eoin Shortall, Neil Clinton, Colin Murphy, Adam Mullins, Dylan Lowry, Sean Fox, Matthew Nally, Thomas Dunning, Darcy Lawless, Adam Donoghue.

Caulry : Team 2: Rory Mullins, Zach Nolan, Glen Carolan, Luke Hamilton, Daniel Buckley, Eugene Costello, Shane Cleary, Shane Hynes, James Clavin, Jack Malone, Rian Rasmussen.

The Caulry Club extends its deepest sympathy to the family of the late Con Murphy, Summerhill, Athlone, father in law of TJ Dunning, on his recent death.
