Presentation Night -
Caulry GAA had a presentation night on Friday night last in Egans Mount Temple before a large attendance. It was a double celebration commemorating as it did the fiftieth anniversary of Westmeath’s  All- Ireland final minor appearance on 22 of September 1963 and Caulry Intermediate Division 2 League and  Intermediate Cup success in 2013.

Caulry had two representatives on the 63 minor squad in Padraig Malone and Eamon Daly. Happily both were present to accept a memento of that great occasion, presented on behalf of the club by George Hatton. Indeed both Padraig and Eamon were looking so fit and healthy that they could probably still play a little. Master of ceremonies, chairman Ger O Kelly Lynch gave a fine synopsis of that time with both Padraig and Eamon recalling memories and wishing the present generation well. While Padraig has resided throughout his lifetime in the area, Eamon has been in Kilkenny for the last 47 years, both still regards himself a Westmeath/Caulry checking results every weekend. He also wittingly commented that its easy to be Kilkenny hurling follower, knowing that the football on Noreside is never likely to clash with the Lake county and vice versa. Eamon also generously made the first contribution to the new pitch development fund.

The  2013 Intermediate squad  salutations were wittingly and inspirationally given by selector, Jody Malynn. In all, 47 players received medals. The chairman concluded by thanking the players and management for all the hard work and effort and while the ‘big one’ eluded us once again, continued commitment and dedication will eventually see the championship trophy reside in Caulry.
