U21 Championship Quarter-Final
Caulry 3-6
Moate 4-7
On a blustery Sunday morning last, our U21s bowed out of this year’s championship as they suffered a four point defeat to neighbours Moate in their quarter-final.
Moate raced out of the tracks with two points in quick succession. However, our lads soon took the lead as a superb pass from Emmet Nally found Cillian Nagle who rattled the back of the opposition’s net. This lead was short lived as Moate pointed to level the game. A goal for Moate left three points the margin by the 8th minute. The teams traded scores with Conor McCormack on target for Caulry. However, the opposition began to dominate proceedings with 1-2 in quick succession. Conor Dolan and Charlie Parker defended well as late goals for either side left the scoreboard reading 3-5 to 2-1 at the interval.
On the resumption, Moate pointed to stretch their lead. A point from Alan Daly reduced the deficit on the 41st minute. A superb pass from McCormack enabled Nagle to send the ball to the back of the Moate net to leave just four points the margin by the quarter-hour mark. Further points from Eoin Fox, Daly and Nally reduced the deficit to just one point. However, as Caulry searched desperately for the equalising point, Moate rallied on to score 1-1. A late point from Stephen Connolly meant Moate ran out winners on a scoreline of 4-7 to 3-6.

Fr Manning Cup Shield
Well done to the Westmeath U16s on their victory in the Fr Manning Cup Shield.  Caulry's Sean Fox, Colin Murphy, Neil Clinton and Darren Browne are important members of this team and played vital roles in the success. Hopefully the county can build on this going forward.
