Division 1 ACFL
Caulry 0-10
Coralstown/Kinnegad 0-16
Caulry suffered another consecutive defeat in this year’s Division 1 ACFL as they made the journey to Kinnegad on Tuesday evening last.
Coralstown/Kinnegad hit the ground running with four points in quick succession. A point from Alan Daly got our lads off the mark on the 9th minute. Some good defending from Damien Dolan and Conor Dolan enabled Daly to halve the deficit with another point from play. However, the Kinnegad men worked hard and stretched their lead with an unanswered 0-3. Joe McMahon brought off a good save in goals on the 24th minute as another point from Daly kept the scoreboard ticking over. The teams traded scores late in the half, with Robbie Hickey on target for Caulry, to leave our lads trailing 0-4 to 0-8 at the interval.
The opposition tagged on some fine scores early in the second half. A pointed-free from Conor McCormack reduced the deficit. Eoin Fox and Harry Hughes worked tirelessly throughout as Hickey pointed on the 47th minute. The opposition drew one back with a fine point from play. Eoin Donohoe fielded well as Hickey narrowed the margins with a pointed-free. The opposition kicked the next two scores of the game to leave seven points between the sides. Damien Dolan rallied on for Caulry with two superb points. However, the teams exchanged scores late in the half to leave the scoreboard reading 0-16 to 0-10 at the fulltime whistle.

Senior & Junior Championship Fixtures
All roads lead to Cusack Park on Sunday next when Caulry take on Tyrrellspass in the third round of this year’s Senior Championship at 7:15pm. Both sides met earlier in the year as part of the Division 1 ACFL when Caulry suffered a five point defeat to the homeside. However, with both sides back to full strength and with the right attitude and performance, our lads will be hoping to overcome their opposition on the evening. A large Caulry support is anticipated to cheer on the boys.
Similarly, our Juniors have a busy week as they play host to St. Lomans on Friday evening. Kick-off is at 7:15pm. Our lads will also be hoping to pick up a brace of points.
