Baylin/Mount Temple Footballers reach Community Games Final
The Baylin/Mount Temple Footballers qualified for the Community Games final played at Mullingar Shamrocks ground on Tuesday evening last. Following a dramatic injury time goal win by Sean Murphy in the semi-final against Moate.
A first minute goal by their Killucan opponents left them with an uphill struggle from early on, and try as they might they just  never recovered from this early setback against a well drilled Killucan team. Callum McKnight made some great saves and his lengthy kick-outs were a feature. Shane Lawless, Ruari Casey and Adam Doyle performed heroics in the full back line. Captain Alan Malynn led by example in a variety of positions, with Tamara Farrell and Josh Jocker tenacious on the wings. Luke Buckley and Harry Niall battled hard against very strong opposition. Senan Baker with an impressive 1-2 score led his line well. The tigerish Olan Healy covered every blade of grass as he tried to inspire his team mates. The other forwards Sean Murphy, Sean Malone, Conor Paul and Jimmy Buckley were very industrious in their efforts throughout. Subs Tara Mullins, Aisling Gaynor, Adam Dunning and Arron Lynch played a major part in the campaign all through. While success eluded them on this occasion, James Casey and his management team can be justifiably be proud of their charges.
