U-14 B County Final Caulry V The Downs (draw)

Caulry travelled to Kinnegad on Sunday last to play The Downs in their U-14 B County Final. It turned out to be a heart stopping, but low scoring game as Áine Gaynor scored Caulry's only goal in the first minute. The Downs replied putting pressure on our back line but Alanna, Jasmine and Erin held in well along with a few super saves from Emma in goals. The ever reliant Ruth Martin in midfield was full of running throughout making life difficult for her opponents. In the second half The Downs took the lead making Caulry do all the work, but a lovely score from Lucy and a final score from Áine meant that the game ended in a draw just before the final whistle. Match to be replayed, date and venue to be confirmed. Thanks to everyone that came out to support the girls, it was great to hear the cheers and clapping from the sideline and means so much to them.

U-8 Girls Blitz

Last Saturday a gang of U-8 girls travelled to St. Loman's to take part in the county blitz. Up to 100 girls took to the field, including our own girls from Caulry, there were teams from Kinnegad, Milltownpass, Rochfortbridge (2), Shandonagh (2), St Lomans (2) and St Pauls – Delvin. The standard of football displayed by all of the teams was very high and provided great excitement for the large crowd of supporters in attendance. Thanks to the coaches, mentors and parents for supporting the little ones. The future of ladies football is bright.
