Leinster U21 Football Championship

Best of luck to the Westmeath Under 21 football team, and especially Ben Moran, Kevin Maguire and Joe McMahon, in Wednesday night's Cadbury Leinster U21FC Semi-Final against Longford in Navan.

Both Moran (see picture below taken from Offaly 1/4 Final game) & Maguire have being a big part of the starting 15 this year, both giving their typical performance of determination and skill to ensure Westmeath sailed into Semi-Final spot.

Westmeath with a number of the side which suffered an unlucky defeat to eventual All-Ireland champions Dublin in last year's Leinster final on the panel will be strongly fancied to get over our neighbours however, Westmeath supporters don't need to be reminded that Longford emerged victorious when the counties met in the Leinster minor championship last year, and will be hopeful of springing another surprise this week.

Westmeath (U21FC v Longford): Eoin Carberry; Ben Moran, Kieran Sheridan, Kevin Maguire; Mark McCallum, Kieran Martin, James Dolan; David Keenan, Darragh Daly; Adam Corroon, Conor Lynam, Ger Egan; Ian Coffey, Callum McCormack, Tommy McDaniel.

Longford (U21FC v Westmeath): TBD

NOTE:
Please note that the N51 road between Athboy and Navan is closed until further notice, and for patrons attending this game it is advisable that people make alternative arrangements to get to Navan in good time for the game, which is timed for 7.45pm.
