Silver Jubilee Celebrations

Congratulations to our own Fr. Pat Kiernan on his Silver Jubilee Celebrations.

25 years as a priest, Fr. Pat joined Mount Temple in late 2000, and since then he has been an integral part of the community, and very popular in the Mount Temple, Baylin and the surrounding areas.

He has also been a keen supporter of Caulry GAA, and indeed played for the club for his first few years in Mount Temple. His first game was against Ballymore in a League game on 31st March 2001, which ended in a draw, with Pat playing at centre-half forward.

See match report from Pat's first game for Caulry.

ACFL Division 5
Caulry traveled to Ballymore last Saturday for their first outing in the ACFL Division 5. The game turned out to be a fast paced and very exciting, and the final result of a draw was probably a fair reflection on the game. Both sides had times where they dominated the game, Caulry had more possession in the first half, but failed to open up a sufficient lead. In the second half Ballymore fought back and played some good football to lead by 3 points with about 5 minutes to go. But all credit to the Caulry lads, and with some great determination they rallied back. With minutes to go, points from Anslem Fitzgerald and Ross Allen, and then a brilliant long ball from Pat Kiernan into Alan Carroll resulted in a well taken point to level the game.
Final score: Caulry 0-10, Ballymore 1-7.
Man of the Match: Colin Hatton.
Team and scorers: TJ Dunning, Colin Hatton, James Casey, John Dolan, Derek Bowen, Damien Dowd, Padraig Killane, Ross Tyrell, Mark Malone, Eddie Egan, Pat Kiernan, Willie Buckley, Alan Carroll(0-4), Ross Allen(0-4), Anslem Fitzgerald(capt.)(0-2).
